Christmas at the Governor's Mansion!
This year the Governor's Mansion showcased decorations from various florists and decorators in the state. As we walked through each room, the various styles of decor was exhibited. All though each were very unique they were all equally beautiful! The Mansion (now home of Bob and Patsy Riley) is 101 years old. When you entered there was beautiful christmas songs being sang by a choir out of Birmingham Al. The Garden room was decorated by Patsy Riley herself. It was very pretty with silver, black and white decorations. Out back beside the Guest house was an Alabama shaped swimming pool. Although I couldn't get at a high enough elevation to get a picture of it's shape. The lights, wall sconces and marble around the fireplaces were all part of General Ligon's residence. It was my first time doing this and I am glad Kristy invited me to go. I really enjoyed it and got some good decorating ideas!! Just so you know Santa came early for me and I got a Nikon D-60 SLR. So far I LOVE IT, and am still learning how to use it to it's best ability. THANKS SANTA!!
