New Year's fun in the wilderness!

The Deer camp in Camden, Al. When you stay here you are truly roughing it!And if it was up to Jason, this would be his 2nd home! Out in the middle of nowhere!
I need a log in the backyard! This was about the most entainment the girls could find other than the antique tractor.

There goes Emily over the log again! They jumped on it and walked it like a balance beam the entire time we were near it.

Here's the antique tractor. I think they could have operated it!

My sweet baby!
This picture is sooo Emily! I liked the way the wind swept her hair across her face.

Anna found a posing stump.
This was our travel guide.
Me and my Roxy girl!
Here she is getting some energy out! She is almost air-borne...I don't think she has a single leg on the ground!
Sparklers, sparklers, and more sparklers.
Whew, lets set down with these!

Mmmmm good, fresh roasted marshmallows! It's just a little hot!
Emily liked them better fresh from the bag.

Jason teaches Anna how to break sticks for the fire.

Me and my girls!
Daddy and his sweet hearts.
We are on our famous log!
We had a good time ringing in the New Year with just the four of us in Camden, Al. I am sorry Roxy I meant the five of us. We did have electricity, but no running water! We don't realize how blessed we are until you spend a few days with out something that you take for granted.(Like running water or a toliet.) We really enjoyed walking through the woods and enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the forest. We didn't see any deer but we saw plenty of birds! I think Emily was ready to come home. Anna said she didn't want to leave! I know two days away was enough for me and I am happy to be home. It is just too bad I have to take down Christmas decorations! It seems like they go up so much faster than they come down. I hope everyone had a good time celebrating the beginning of 2009! I can't wait to see what wonderful blessings are in store for us this year!

  1. Those are really great pictures. It looks like a great background out there for you to get some wonderful family shots. You are braver than I am staying without running water - I don't know that I could do that, especially with Jack! Looks like good family fun time. Great picture of you and Roxy too. I like the new background!

  7. Looks like you picked a great place to ring in the new year. Matt and I have been talking about taking our girls camping. They love the outdoors and Gracie loves to fish, so I'm sure they would have a good time. Maybe in the spring...
