First I learned you can't take pictures of anything without my kids wanting their pictures taken!!

Here are the lounge pants I made Jason, it would have been much cheaper to buy them. I had a good excuse to make these because it is virtually impossible to find pajama pants with a 36" length! So here is his first pair that is actually long enough.(And he wouldn't even model them)

I played around with an old pair of Emily's socks and learned how to sew eyelet lace on them. I had seen a tutorial awhile back on a stickler blog and couldn't get back to it, but I figured it out. I am also going to try and make ribbon edged socks.

I had fabric left over from Jason's pants so I made scrunchies and I will probally make our Dog a bandana. I can't see wasting Auburn material!

This is the back side of Anna's sundress for next spring. This is how my sewing got started. Granny brought up her machine (which is now mine:) and helped me learn the mechanics and principles of sewing. She did most of this dress herself but I helped out where I could.

And here is the front of my little model, she is such a cute model, if I do say so myself! I have plans and fabric to make Emily one of these and HOPEFULLY it will look the same.

This I learned to do when Emily was born, because we couldn't afford to buy bows for both girls! My good friend Teri taught me this trade. I love to use the doulble ruffle ribbon for bows also.
That is all so far and now I must get in the kitchen and start cooking for Thanksgiving because we will be celebrating today. I will be working second shift tomorrow and didn't want to try and squeeze everything in that morning. I hope everyone enjoys this time with family and friends!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Wow! You are VERY TALENTED!! I myself can barely sew a button back on pants. The sundress is my favorite. I LOVE the back. It's also my fav b/c most other stuff has AU on it!! HA HA Have a really Happy Thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I also like the new blog layout. Love the pics of you and Jason with the girls!!
ReplyDeleteLori,
ReplyDeleteThankyou for the sweet comments you leave. It is too bad that we didn't think to have someone else take our pic so we could all be in it together. So I figured I would put them both, even if it looks a little funny!
I am with Lori on sewing. I like the Christmas layout and your new pictures. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go on the sewing!!! Everything is so cute! I have wanted to start sewing for a long time but we just don't have the room! Plus you really need a sewing machine...which I hope to get soon! I guess I'll have to move something out to make room because I DO want to learn!!! I learned how to cut out patterns so I guess that's a start!!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Ginger! I know a "little" bit about sewing thanks to my mother and grandmother who can sew anything and everything it seems. She used to make my Easter dresses for me as a child. If I had a girl, I would definitely purchase a sewing machine because you can do so much with the girl clothing as opposed to boys-at least that's my opinion. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and ROLL TIDE! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the socks. I am having a terrible time finding socks for Audrey that are appropriate for church. You have solved my problem! I will just sew some swanky lace around plain socks and... wa-la! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteGinger, your family is beautiful, even despite Jason! (Totally kidding.) I was excited to hear from you. I am jealous because I would LOVE to sew, but, seriously, I can not sew on a button! No lie. Well, I hope you had a GREAT Thanksgiving! I look forward to catching up more! Lote of LOVE!
ReplyDeleteGinger you did great with the pants and dress!!!
ReplyDeleteI now have a computer at home woohoo!!. I called your house thinking you were home and talked to Jason. I gave him my email address.
Love you
Sissy :)
Well, I'm gonna start calling you "Martha Stewart." I have always said that I would love to learn how to sew and smock for my girls, but I don't know when I would do it if I could!!! I'm doing good to keep bows made! I LOVE Anna's dress! Haven't talked to you in a while, but hope ya'll had a great Thanksgiving! I went to our wonderful Wetumpka emergency room tonight...what a joke! I'll tell you about it later. I guess I shopped too much yesterday! Ha!
ReplyDeleteGirl, I am impressed with the sewing!!!! It's pretty sad that my degree is in Apparel Design and there's no way a sundress would come out as good as yours did and don't even get me started on those adorable socks!!!!!!!
