Around lunch today, Anna ran up to me and said "Mom there is a lizard on the coffee table." She led me into the living room to show me, and there it sat a small green lizard on the coffee table. She said "hurry and catch it before it gets away!" I don't really like touching lizards, I know they can't bite hard because they don't have teeth. So I grabbed a hand towel and threw over it and picked it up, planning to take it outside. Of course the lizard got away from me and ran toward the chair. As I went after it again, Anna said "when you catch it give it to me so I can hold it." I had no idea she wasn't scared, I figured she was since she needed me. I told her if she wanted to hold it she could catch it herself. The little lizard was give out at this point and Anna just picked it right up. She held it a minute and let it go out into the backyard with it's family.
The funny part to the story is that when we got back from the ball game tonight (which we lost), Anna was so excited to tell her Daddy about the lizard. She said "I am a hero because I saved a lizards life today!"
John Parker isn't afraid either!! That is a cute story of her saving the lizzard's life! :)
